After 40 hours of sanding, painting, and reupholstering, my interior finally looks and feels like new again, a huge relief after that long process. I've since re-ran the engine and my HP is now at 520 with a revised camshaft swap that's made a notable difference. Swapped out the old MBD for a custom Alpina unit, now the OEM gauge cluster looks almost factory. Only thing holding me back from getting the pedal set done is paint match for the carbon fiber trim. Wrapped the dash and doors, then re-trimmed everything with some new Alcantara – feeling like a whole new cockpit in here. Replaced all trim pieces with custom units, spent an extra day sanding down old adhesive residue for a smooth finish. Now the interior feels like its own little world. Swapped the 5.7 into the chassis over the weekend, now only need to bleed the cooling system and fire her up for a first test drive. Swapped out my old seats for some sweet Recaro SP1s, took about 10 hours of labor to get them in, looks and feels like a whole new car. Revised engine swap to a stronger 6.0L LSX with 4.2:1 ratio manual transmission and upgraded clutch for smoother shifting performance. Replaced lower control arm bushings with poly-bushed units resulting in improved camber and reduced tire wear under heavy throttle input. Head unit upgraded with CarPlay. Spent Saturday night sanding down everything, now ready for paint and the first layer of clear coat tomorrow morning. After sanding down every panel, I'm finally ready to let the paint shop do their magic – time to see if my hard work pays off. Reupholstered seats are a huge difference, now I can sink into them without feeling like I'm sinking into some worn-out couch.
