Spent 20 hours sanding down surfaces, applying primer, and painting a fresh coat of black that looks almost identical to my old OEM finish. Now all that's left is a clear coat. Revised engine management system installation confirmed a +5 horsepower gain on the 15.2k rpm pull in today's dyno run. +2 mais The color looks great, no noticeable orange bleed and the clear coat has a nice depth to it, can't wait for a test drive tomorrow. I've since swapped the exhaust manifold on my engine and re-tested the dyno, pushing output up to 440 horsepower instead of 420. +8 mais Finally got the interior treated to a sweet, deep blue color that matches my garage walls - it's a nice change from the usual neutral tones. Replaced the old exhaust with a 3-inch free-flow setup that should make a noticeable difference on the drag strip and in the garage. Just swapped out the camshaft for a lighter unit and saw a 20-rpm gain in power output on the next dyno run. The final coats of clear are drying now, looks like a million bucks, can't wait to get back out on the road. Just finished sanding down the whole car, now ready for paint and a fresh coat of clear to protect that new color. The clear coat is on, a beautiful finish that's taken several coats to get just right, now it's time for some detailing to make it pop. Swapped out my old exhaust with a custom downpipe and catback, reduced backpressure by 20% on the dyno yesterday morning. Applied a coat of epoxy primer, will be followed by a 2-part black polyurethane to give these flares some much needed flair and protection from the elements. Got the custom lip spoilers painted in a sweet matte black finish, really makes the ride pop.
